1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.
Here Paul is thankful that when he was with the Thessalonians, that they accepted what he taught them as The Words of and from God. What was his proof, that it changed the way they lived their lives.
We simply cannot hear God's Word, as a true believer in Christ, and not be changed. As James 1:22 says, we're not to hear The Word and not be a doer of The Word. To hear it and not obey it means we're deceiving ourselves about our relationship with The LORD! (James 1:22)
God loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus to die for the wrongs that we did! He also loves us enough to not let us continue living our lives in sin!
What happens in your life when you hear God's Word? Anything? Everything? If it isn't transforming your life, then there is clearly something wrong with your relationship with Jesus, which could even mean that you don't have a relationship with Him at all!
If you're not being changed everytime you hear God's Word, then pray to The LORD and ask Him to take over your life. Surrender your will to Him and allow The LORD to change you from the inside out! He'll do so with a change that lasts for eternity! The Word of God performs a work in those who believe in and live for The LORD!
If you don't know Him and/or are struggling with your relationship with Jesus, please reach out to us. Jesus loves you, really He does, and so do we!
