LATEST NEWS

We are currently in Moffett, OK where a historic flood damaged every home and building from major rains that happened upriver this summer.  We're rebuilding 3 homes and also helping others as we can, trusting The LORD to help us keep our commitments.  Unfortunately we've struggled to get volunteers, even locals to help us, which is truly sad.  We're set up to handle volunteers so if you're interested in learning more about joining us, click here.  There is also a volunteer availability calendar on that page. If you're interested in financially supporting Calvary Relief, click here.

To read our 2019 Review, please click here. To stay up to date with what we're doing, please see our Facebook account and/or our newsletters, links are above.  Please pray that wherever we are and whatever we do, we'd be diligent as we share the love of Jesus with those around us in a tangible way.  Please remember to keep us in your prayers and especially that we'd grow in our relationship with The LORD and draw others to Him in all we say and do!  Curt & Mary Jo

I Will NOT Fear!

God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble. [2] Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas, [3] Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains tremble at its roaring. Selah. [4] There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High. [10] “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.” [11] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah. Psalm 46:1-4,10-11 AMP

I love vs 1 in the Amplified Version!

The LORD is Mighty and Impenetrable, always present and a well-proven help in anything we go through in this world when we're walking with Him!

The Psalmist goes on the list some specific things that could and will happen on this earth and he says “we will not fear!”

At the end of vs 3 he uses the word Selah, which means to take a moment to pause and think about what was just written.  Why don’t you take a moment to reflect on the vs 1-3.

What an awesome God we serve!  He’s our stronghold and absolutely no match for anyone on this earth including satan and any of his demons. He’s always there for us, 24/7, 365(6), and has proven that to us repeatedly, not only through examples in The Bible, but also in each of our lives if we’d take a “Selah” moment and actually think about it!

In vs 4 he tells us that there’s a river whose streams make glad the city of God.  Jesus said He’s the living water in John 4:7-14 AMP.

Then a woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink”—For His disciples had gone off into the city to buy food— The Samaritan woman asked Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jews have nothing to do with Samaritans.)  Jesus answered her, “If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).”  She said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with [no bucket and rope] and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?  Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and who used to drink from it himself, and his sons and his cattle also?”  Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.  But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”

Jesus is The River and once we drink from His River, we will never Spiritually thirst again.  As we continue to draw from His Well our lives will be satisfied Spiritually, and we will be so full of The Holy Spirit inside of us that we will continually overflow, bubbling over, so that all of those around us will see Jesus lived out in our lives.

In the context of this Psalm, he’s speaking directly about fear and worrying as opposed to totally trusting in The Lord.  Our trust in The Lord no matter what we’re going through on this earth, will be evident to all of those around us!

In vs 10 he tells us to be still and know that The Lord is, well The Lord.  Read back through vs 1-3.  Being still does NOT mean to stop and do nothing.  It means to stop fretting, running around like crazy people trying to do everything in our own strength and thus change what’s out of our control to have a “fake” peace, one that isn’t from Jesus.  Think of Jesus telling the wind and waves to be still.  They were still in the boat, on the water, and rowing, but now they had Jesus’ peace to calm their fears.  They had a lot to learn and so do we!  (Mark 4:35-41)

He finishes up in vs 11 once again telling us that The Lord is with all of us who walk with Him!  Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us.  (Hebrews 13:5)  Paul told us that The Lord will never allow us to be tempted so that we would have to sin, worry is a sin!  (1 Corinthians 10:13, Philippians 4:6-7)  Jesus also promised us that we’d have trouble in this world and then told us to take heart, He’s overcome the world, all that’s in it and all that’s to come!  (John 16:33)

If we're not walking with Him then we can't expect Him to be near us and we cannot be drinking from His well spring.  He’s our refuge, our strength, and our strong tower.  We need to stay close to Jesus, run to Him for all our worries and cares, and allow Him to continue to show us how we’re to be in this world today and everyday!  Get in God’s Word.  Get involved with discipling and being discipled!  Get plugged into a local Bible teaching/following church.  Serve Jesus and others!

Need any help with any of this, please let us know.  We’d love to help you on this journey we call life.  Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions, prayer requests, etc.  We'd love to pray with and for you and to the best of our ability answer any questions you may have soley using God's Word!

Here to serve and disciple until He calls us home,

Love yas, but Jesus loves you more!
