We are currently in Moffett, OK where a historic flood damaged every home and building from major rains that happened upriver this summer.  We're rebuilding 3 homes and also helping others as we can, trusting The LORD to help us keep our commitments.  Unfortunately we've struggled to get volunteers, even locals to help us, which is truly sad.  We're set up to handle volunteers so if you're interested in learning more about joining us, click here.  There is also a volunteer availability calendar on that page. If you're interested in financially supporting Calvary Relief, click here.

To stay up to date with what we're doing, please see our Facebook account and/or our newsletters, links are above.  Please pray that wherever we are and whatever we do, we'd be diligent as we share the love of Jesus with those around us in a tangible way.  Please remember to keep us in your prayers and especially that we'd grow in our relationship with The LORD and draw others to Him in all we say and do!  Curt & Mary Jo

Worshipping The LORD With Our Lives

You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. — Nehemiah 9:6

We should all want to worship The LORD with all we are because He has fearfully and wonderfully made us and given us everything!  (Psalm 139:14)  I personally can't wait to join the angels and praise Him in heaven and like Paul, I am ready to leave this earth the moment God is done using me here!  (Philippians 1:21)

In the mean time though we need to continue to worship The LORD with our lives in ALL we do on this Earth until we get to heaven.  (Philippians 1:22-24)

Yes this MOST DEFINITELY includes going to church, being led in worship to The LORD in songs of praise as we then are taught God's Word in full context.  Church doors should never be closed.  Ask yourself if Jesus came back tomorrow and asked why you closed your church or simply chose to do something else instead, what would your answer be?  Remember that you’d be answering The Giver of Life who died for you!

Yes I understand that sometimes things come up that make it impossible to attend church, but we must remember what God’s Word says in Hebrews 10:25 AMP—not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.  The book of Hebrews was written to Jews who had gotten saved and were being persecuted for their belief in Christ.  We need to ask ourselves, especially here in America, what’s our reason for closing our church doors or simply not going and exactly how does it line up with Scripture?

I totally understand that worshiping The LORD doesn’t just happen at church, but it is an integral part of a true believer’s life according to God’s Word!  (Hebrews 10:25, Acts 2:42, etc)  On top of going to church, we need to spend time with The LORD and in His Word daily, being refreshed in and with It!  That’s what Jesus did on a regular basis and He is God!!

We then need to take God’s Word and apply it to our lives, living it out loud, being Jesus’ Hands and Feet in practical ways to everyone around us wherever we are.  That is following God’s will for our lives!

A life lived full out for Jesus is the ONLY life worth living on this Earth!  (1 Corinthians 3:12-13, Philippians 3:14)  We need to take up our cross daily, deny what our flesh wants to do, and love The LORD (obey/follow Him) with ALL our heart, mind, and soul!  (Luke 9:23, Matthew 22:37-40, John 14:15)

As the old credit card ad used to say, “What’s in your wallet?”  So really, what’s in your heart?  What are you living your life for?  Your spouse?  Your kids/grandkids?  Your career?  Money?  A bigger house?  A nicer car?

Years ago I heard a pastor say to look at our check books and we’d see what we were really living our lives for and serving.  Was it a small “g” god, or was it The LORD God Almighty!  Of course today we just need to look at our credit card and loan statements to see just what small “g” god we’re willing to go in debt for and/or spend all our time and money on?  (Ecclesiastes 5:10, Hebrews 13:5, 1 Timothy 6:6-13)

Our lives are not our own.  (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)  Time on this earth is short and we need to prioritize our lives according to God’s Word or we’ll be living in sin.  (James 4:13-17)  The more time we think we have to get things in order, the quicker we find out that we’ll never have enough time.  We worry about so many things in this life, but Jesus tells us that we need not worry about ANYTHING, but rather seek Him first and then we’ll have whatever He knows that we need!  (Matthew 6:31-34

Bottom line?  We’re called to persevere to the end because The LORD is full of compassion and is merciful!  (James 5:7-11)  We need to set our priorities to line up with all of Scripture.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17)  We need to put our pride and selfish motives aside and submit to the authority of The LORD and His Word.  We need to resist satan and his temptations, staying away from anything that will distract us from following The LORD.  (James 4:7, 1 Corinthians 10:13)  We need to draw close to The LORD by being in His Word, prayer and discipleship and fellowship with other believer, bearing each other’s burdens and confessing our sins one to another.  (Acts 2:42, Galatians 6:1-2, James 5:16)  We need to call sin, sin and grieve over and truly repent of the sins in our lives and throw away the sin that so easily entangles us.  (Romans 1:18-32, Hebrews 12:1)  Then we need to humble ourselves in His presence and He will give us a purpose, a calling in our lives as we press on and into Christ, The Author and Finisher of our Faith, doing the good works that He prepared in advance for us to do!  (James 4:1-10, Philippians 3:8-14, Hebrews 12:2, Ephesians 2:10)

Jesus never said it would be easy, but to take heart because He has overcome the world.  (John 16:33)  He told us to go and disciple others with what He taught us because He will be with us for eternity.  (Matthew 28:19-20)  Worship The LORD today with all your heart, mind, and soul.  (Luke 10:27)  Get into God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship, and then get busy about the living your life so that other’s know that you KNOW The LORD by all that you do and say and build upon the solid foundation of The LORD Jesus Christ!  (1 Corinthians 3:10-15)

Love y’all and LORD Bless,
