Things oftentimes move too quick for us in what we do.  Now with Hurricane Ian getting ready to make landfall close, if not directly in our hometown, we have with much prayer and counsel decided to pack up our tools and bring our tool trailer, diesel, and van home to Sarasota to help with what may be the worst storm to hit there in my lifetime.

We regret having to leave KY and it’s the hardest decision we’ve ever made regarding moving.  Fortunately we’ve been busy getting set up and have not made any commitments to anyone in the area that we would need to break.  Everyone here we’ve talked to understands that our family and hometown come first, and they said they would do the same thing.  This has been a policy with us from day one, so that did make the decision easier, but it was still hard.

We started packing things up yesterday and will finish today and hopefully head out to get a few hours down the road.  We don’t know what all we’ll run into traffic wise, so hoping to make it Friday AM, latest.

We’re involved in some conference calls already with the COAD we’ve been hooked up with for over 15 years and are also good friends with the EOC Chief so will be in touch with them as well.

Please don’t just head in.  We have a role in our county and church’s relief/recovery efforts immediately after a storm hits and of course need to check on our home, otherwise, we’d hang back.
